REDEEM
"The word “Redeem” (H#1350) is the Hebrew word “Gaal” and it means the following: to be the next of kin (and as such to buy back a relative’s property, marry his widow, etc., avenger (to exact vengeance). The word redeemer is found eighteen times in the Old Testament and thirteen times in the Book of Isaiah. In Isaiah 44:6 it says, “Thus saith the Lord the king of Israel, and His redeemer (Gaal) the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.” The word redeem means to buy, get, or win back. God came in the flesh in the person of Yeshua, The son of God, to redeem or buy us back with His own life (I Peter 1:18-21). This subject is not to be taken lightly and God proved His love by laying down His own life for all of mankind (John 10:17-18)." ~Pastor Nick Plummer (Beit Tehila, Brandon, FL)
