Jacob’s final blessing upon his twelve sons before his death; he blessed his son Judah (Judah means Praise or Sceptered One). Genesis 49:10 "The scepter will not depart from Judah; nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet; until He comes to whom it belongs and the obedience of the nations are His.”
This Rod is used as a walking stick, a club or weapon, a shepherd’s crook, a padding device, a royal scepter, a measuring stick, figurative of divine authority, also called a staff. The Name In scripture, the Hebrew word for rod, or staff, is "matteh" (mah-TAH).
Eagle = symbol of “prophetic insight”
This same Hebrew word also refers to a king's scepter and the rods used by the various tribes in the Old Testament. Throughout scripture, rods are used as symbols of authority and power.
