The Fragrant Bride
“And thou shalt make it a perfume, a confection after the art of the apothecary, tempered together, pure and holy.”
—Exodus 30:35
Throughout Scripture, oils, fragrances, spices, perfumes, and preparations were used for anointing, cleansing, consecration, and preparation. We see a beautiful picture of this in Esther, who underwent a season of preparation with oil of myrrh, perfumes, and preparations before being brought before the king.
The Biblical Apothecary reflects this imagery of preparing the Bride—a people being made ready for her King.
- Roqeach (רֹקֵחַ) is a Hebrew term associated with an apothecary or perfumer—one who blends aromatic spices and oils to create fragrant preparations.
Our collection brings together biblical oils, aromatic treasures, handcrafted soaps, natural wood accessories, specialty bottles, and preparation supplies inspired by the fragrances and preparations found throughout Scripture. These items can be enjoyed for personal care, gift-giving, worship, and creative projects while pointing us back to the deeper spiritual picture of consecration, preparation, and devotion to the Bridegroom.
“Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready.”
—Revelation 19:7
