“Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai: ‘Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!’”

“If I perish, I perish.”

These powerful words reveal a heart completely surrendered to the purposes of God. Esther understood the cost of approaching the king uninvited, yet she chose obedience over self-preservation. Strengthened through prayer, fasting, and the intercession of her people, she stepped courageously into the position God had prepared for her.

Esther was not given royal position merely for herself. She had been brought into the kingdom “for such a time as this.” Her surrender became an act of courage, her obedience opened the way for deliverance, and God used her position to preserve His people.

If I Perish, I Perish is a visual declaration of that same surrendered heart—LORD, I will obey You, whatever the cost.
